Kenmare School
School is an integral part of growing up and for most of us, has a big impact on how we live our lives in later years.
A visit to Kenmare State School, which has been kept restored gives a glimpse of what schools were like for our past leaders, family members, business leaders and others.
Built in 1903 from local limestone, this single room school housed the educational requirements for local students for 78 years until its closure in 1982.
The school building itself is not open to the public, but worth the trip to see an authentic early regional school.
16km east of Rainbow along the Birchip-Rainbow Road.
